Independence Day
The National flag was unfurled on the occasion by Shri Rampal, Councilor in the presence of doctors, staff and distinguished guests. This was followed by singing of the National Anthem and distribution Of sweets.
Christmas Celebration
Christmas function was celebrated on 24th Dec with a lot of festive spirit. A small cultural programme was presented by our Staff which was enjoyed by one and all. The Christmas cake was cut by Mrs. Bandana Bagchi and refreshment was served to all. The function was well attended and the children present especially enjoyed the participation of Santa Claus.
Public Awareness Programme on Breast Cancer
A public awareness programme on breast cancer was organized at the seminar hall Of Rural Medicare Centre on 14.10.2016. About 50 participants, mostly the patients from Dept Of Obs & Gynae, took part in the discussion. Dr. S. K. Basu and Dr. Vaneeta Kapur. These awareness programmes are very useful tools in not only spreading awareness in the community but also on busting many myths surrounding the illness. The programme was appreciated by one and all and everybody felt the need to conduct more such programmes. The doctors through their power point and video presentation, educated and interacted with the participants. Mr. J. K. Bagchi, our President along with his wife Mrs. Bandana Bagchi were present on the occasion. Light refreshment Was served to all the participants.
Diwali Lunch
A get together Was organized on the occasion of Diwali on 27.10.2016 when our staff and doctors exchanged greetings. The premises and seminar room was decorated attractively by our staff and every body enjoyed the sumptuous lunch that followed.
24th National Conference of ARSI
24th National conference of ARSI was held in Kullu, HP, from 3rd Nov to 6th Nov 2016. Like every year, there was Pre – Conference workshop on 3rd Nov. In the next three days there were guest lectures, seminar, short paper presentations and 2 Orations. Lancet commission on Global surgery participated actively in this conference. Besides elaborate discussions on implementation of recommendations related to surgical system strengthening in Rural India. Lancet honored some of the senior members Of ARSI for their continuous effort in propagating the concept of Rural Surgery. Dr. J. K. Banerjee was also honored with “Life Time Achievement Award “on this occasion. Dr. S. K. Basu delivered a guest lecture on “Cervical Cancer screening in resource poor setting” and chaired a session for judging the best paper award.
Felicitation of Dr. J. K. Banerjee
Dr. J. K. Banerjee was felicitated by Param Poojniya Nand Babaji on 22nd Feb 17 for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from Lancet Commission. Dr. Gopal and Dr. Basu spoke on the occasion and commended Dr. J. K. Banerjee and his lifetime contribution in the field Of Rural Surgery and his unmatched ability to inspire doctors to join in this movement and take it forward on the National Stage.
Param Poojniya Nand Babaji spoke of Dr. Banerjee’s yeoman contribution to make the life of common man bearable in times of illness and his dedication to resolve the suffering of the rural population. He said that in today’s materialistic world when everybody is running after money there are very few doctors like Dr. Banerjee and very few hospitals like Rural Medicare Centre who are providing selfless service to the community. He blessed Dr Banerjee and everybody working at RMC to continue working with the same dedication and achieve even better outcomes.
Super Annuation of Mr. Devi Ram
Mr. Devi Ram Sr. Paramedic retired on 31.03.2017 after putting in 37 years of dedicated service. He joined the institution in a junior capacity and worked up the ranks to not only become a senior, responsive staff but also a guide, mentor and role model for our junior paramedics. He was felicitated by Rural Medicare Society and Centre and fellow staff members and given a fitting farewell.
Eye Camps
A free eye camp was held on 20th Nov 2016 at Vill. Bawli. Dist. Baghpat up. 500 patients were examined and medicines distributed to them, 267 spectacles were distributed free to the patients. 46 patients were operated for cataract.
A free eye camp was held on 8th Jan at Vill. Badli Distt. Jhajjhar, Haryana. 392 patients were examined in OPD and medicines were distributed free and 242 spectacles were given free to them.
