Patron

Param pujaniya Nand Babaji of Karunamayi Maa shaktipeeth became our new Patron in 2013 and agreed to guide us and help us to reach to our goal. He has already been guiding us and providing support to all of our activities through his guidance and through financial help by himself and from various resources.

Public awareness program

A film show on Breast cancer was screened in the year 2014 by Dr. Vaneeta Kapoor and Dr. S.K.Basu as a part of awareness programs for women. The doctors through their power point and video presentation educated and interacted with the participants. Mr. J.K.Bagchi, our president with his wife also graced the occasion. Clinical aspect and importance of mammography and its various findings were elaborately discussed. It was attended by good number of women attending our hospital and from outside. The program was appreciated by one and al.l The program ended with interactive session of questions and answers. It generated lot of interests among women folks.

Bhajan Sandhya

Bhajan Sandhya, an event of soulful Bhajan by renowned Bhajan singer Mr. O P Rai was organized in 2014 within the hospital premises. The occasion was graced by Param Poojya Nand Babaji and was attended by members of our society, consultants, staffs and distinguished guests from other localities. Splendid rendition of Mr. Rai impressed the audience at large and created a mystic spiritual atmosphere. The meeting ended with blessings of Nand Babaji and distribution of Prasad.

Inauguration of new ward on second floor

Swami Shantatmanandji, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi inaugurated our new ward on second floor on 8th August,2009, adding further eleven beds to our existing bed strength, a nursing station, and medicine store. Swamiji went around the hospital, saw the facilities and congratulated the doctors of RMC for providing good quality health care at amazingly low cost to the needy and prayed that RMC should continue this good work. On this occasion he also gave a talk on “seva” for consultants, paramedic and other staff members.

Visit of overseas students and student from other NGOs

Within few years of inception of Rural Medicare Society, many overseas students from various countries like England, US, Germany, Holland, France, Denmark and Norway visited our centre from time to time to study various aspect s of tropical medicine, cultural beliefs and how it affects health care, and many more. 

Ms. Clemence Jullien from France, a student of Anthropology stayed at our center for a month and did an in-depth study of cultural belief of Indian pregnant women.

Ms. Pat Fairbrother (British midwife) along with two senior health workers from Arohi, an NGO from Nainital dist., had training at our center for one month to develop skills on emergency obstetric management, and management of asphyxiated neonates. A female paramedic from same organization had her training as OT assistant and midwifery for 8 months at our center. Two paramedical female staff from Dharamshala of Himachal Pradesh also had their overall training as nursing staff at our center for three months. Likewise many NGOs sent their paramedical staffs at our center for training in various fields. It always remained our pleasure to train them properly so that they can go back to their respective organizations and work independently.

Starting of Dental Dept

New Dental dept was started on 5th Nov, 2011, equipped with modern dental chair along with Xray and other modern equipments. It got a big response from our Patients.

Inauguration of Phacoemulsification machine

 To keep pace with the modern technology Phacoemulsification machine was added to our ophthalmology dept. for cataract surgery on 18.08.2011. The machine was donated by Karuna Care foundation, and was inaugurated by Param Poojya Shri Nand Babaji.

Commissioning Dental dept.

Dental dept. has been started in Nov 2011. The dept. is equipped with modern dental chair, Dental X ray machine, and other dental equipments.

Release of book on rural surgery

A book titled “Memoirs of a Rural Surgeon- Turning point of medical practice” authored by Dr. J.K.Banerjee, past president of Rural Medicare Society and Association of Rural surgeons of India was released by Bharat Ratna Prof. A P J Abdul Kalam, ex president of India in a small and dignified function at his residence attended by members of Rural Medicare Society.

Amendments of constitution

A special general body meeting was held on 2nd march 2013 to discuss about the recent amendments to the constitution that was necessary for better functioning of the society and the hospital. These amendments were unanimously passed by the GB and sent to the office of the registrar of the society.

Priety Mitra Memorial oration

Priety Mitra Memorial Oration was delivered by Swami Shantatmanandji, secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi on 16th February 2013. It was attended by doctors, members of RMS, guests and paramedical staffs of the hospital. Swamiji spoke eloquently on subject of “Service to the mankind”. He remarked that we are blessed to be working in a hospital which gives us an opportunity to help suffering and needy people. He advised to make the most of this opportunity and purify ourselves. He also said that we should be truthful in our thoughts and actions which will ultimately reflect in the outcome. The basement meeting hall was decorated on this occasion with various posters of Swami Vivekananda and Thakur Ramakrishna’s life events. It created an atmosphere of serenity and peace appreciated by all.

Renovation of OT

Our main operation theater has been totally renovated with new OT table overhead lights and covering the entire wall with glazed tile with the support of Mitali Mahila Welfare trust 17-18

Felicitation of Dr. J.K.Banerjee

Dr. J.K.Banerjee was felicitated by our patron Param Poojya Nand Babaji for receiving the life time Achievement Award from Lancet commission for Global surgery. Dr. Basu and Dr Gopal spoke on the occasion and commended Dr. Banerjee for his life time contribution in the field of rural surgery and his unmatched ability to inspire doctors to join in the movement and take it forward on the National stage. Poojya Nand Babaji also blessed Dr. Banerjee on this occasion and talked about his yeomen contribution to make the life of common man in general and poor people in particular to alley the sufferings of their illness. Starting of regular Uro surgery unit

It was indeed another feather in the cap for RMC to start Urosurgery unit from 2013. Patients with urological problems had to be outsourced so far for which they had to travel at a distant places, spend more money for surgical procedure. Beginning of this unit at our center will be a great relief for our patients, help them to get their treatment faster at a nominal cost.

Further newer facilities

  1. An elevator (Lift) has been commissioned in the hospital premises to transfer patients to the upper floors.

  2. 20 CCTV cameras are installed at various strategic pts for better security.

  3. Along standing need of NICU has been made in the 1st floor which has been kindly sponsored by Mr. K.K.Rai

  4. Hormone testing machine has been added to our laboratory to facilitate various hormone tests in-house at a nominal cost.

  5.  Skin photo therapy machine has been added in the dept. of Dermatology which will be extremely useful for the treatment of various Dermatological disorders. This machine has been bought with the benevolent donation of Mr. Siddhartha Bhattacharya. 15-16
